On March 15, 2014, the Workshop on the updates of PAHO/WHO on the guidelines for the Control of Cervical Cancer was held with invited experts from PAHO, PATH, MOVICANCER and CIES where the new guidelines were presented. guidelines and why there is a need for change in the current strategy used by Nicaragua.

Personalities from MINSA, the Vice-President of the Health Commission of the National Assembly Dr. Parajon, representatives of Pro-Mujer, PASMO, IXCHEN, Cultivando la Salud, CGR, ITZA, Master of SRH of UNAN-Managua, were present. Hospitals: Antonio Lenin Fonseca, Roberto Calderón, Women’s Hospital “Dra. Bertha Calderón” and different SILAIS of the Country. A novelty of the Workshop was the transmission in real time over the internet for the public that could not attend, who also participated with questions. More than 100 professionals showed interest in the topic either by physically presenting themselves or participating through the online broadcast.

Each of those present was given a copy of the summary of the new PAHO/WHO guidelines for cervical cancer control.
