Fundación Movicáncer

AMCA es una ONG Suiza de apoyo al desarrollo con programas y proyectos sociales que permitan promover intervenciones directas de apoyo a los grupos más vulnerables, las mujeres y los niños; teniendo en cuenta el acceso gratuito a la salud y la educación. En Nicaragua han estado presente desde el año 1986 con intervenciones para el control del cáncer. Comenzaron con un proyecto de prevención del cáncer cervicouterino con la introducción de un programa basado en Citología Cervical en el Distrito III, teniendo como base de desarrollo el Hospital de la Mujer Dra. Bertha Calderón.

Posteriormente, apoyaron la creación del Centro Nacional de Radioterapia (CNR) Nora Astorga y la creación del Departamento de Hemato Oncología en el Hospital Infantil Manuel de Jesús Rivera, “La Mascota”. Desde entonces han continuado apoyando diferentes estrategias de control del cáncer y han colaborado con Movicancer en el desarrollo de la investigación de campo denominada: “Lo que piensan las mujeres: Conocimientos y percepciones sobre el cáncer del cuello de útero y la realización del Papanicolaou en Nicaragua”. Este estudio ha sido usado para mejorar las estrategias de control del Cáncer Cervicouterino con calidad y calidez en el sistema de salud pública. Asimismo, ha venido apoyando diversas iniciativas en el área de Cuidados Paliativos e introducción de nuevas pruebas de tamizaje basado en ADN del VPH, para lograr que más mujeres usen este tipo de pruebas en modalidad de autotoma.

Como asociación, trabajan con los valores éticos del servicio público de salud y apoyan su desarrollo a través de proyectos colaborativos con instituciones, asociaciones y grupos de la sociedad civil de los países democráticos de la región centroamericana. www.amca.ch

Fundación Movicancer

PATH es el líder en innovación de salud global. Es una organización internacional sin fines de lucro, cuya meta es salvar vidas y mejorar la salud, especialmente entre mujeres y niños. PATH apoya la aceleración de la innovación en cinco plataformas: vacunas, medicamentos, diagnósticos, dispositivos e innovaciones de sistemas y servicios.

En Nicaragua ha desarrollado diversos proyectos e iniciativas para el control del cáncer cervical. Desde el año 2014 apoya a Movicancer en la introducción e implementación del Test del VPH a través del Ministerio de Salud.

<p”>Este test permite ser usado fácilmente por los servicios de salud debido a la sencillez y adaptabilidad para trabajar en entornos de difícil acceso. Debido a la resistencia de las mujeres en hacerse la prueba de Papanicolaou, a causa de factores culturales, el Test del VPH ha tenido una gran acogida entre todas las mujeres nicaragüenses, sobre todo, aquellas provenientes del mundo rural.

También ha apoyado el desarrollo del sistema nacional de registro y seguimiento para el control del cáncer cervicouterino a través del SIVIPCAN, tecnología desarrollada e impulsada por Movicancer desde el año 2007. El trabajo de PATH también ha implicado apoyar a Movicancer en el desarrollo de Normas y Políticas Públicas que fortalezcan el desarrollo de acciones de prevención y control basados en un marco jurídico que respalde las acciones de mejora locales en la prestación de servicios para la prevención del cáncer cervicouterino. www.path.org

Fundación Movicancer

La Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) es el organismo especializado de salud del sistema interamericano, encabezado por la Organización de los Estados Americanos (OEA), y también está afiliada a la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), desde 1949. De igual manera, forma parte del sistema de las Naciones Unidas.

La misión esencial de la Organización es cooperar técnicamente con los gobiernos miembros y estimular la cooperación entre ellos para que, a la vez que se conserva un ambiente saludable y se avanza hacia el desarrollo humano sostenible, la población de las Américas alcance la Salud para Todos y por Todos. La OPS lleva a cabo esa misión en colaboración con los ministerios de salud, otros organismos gubernamentales e internacionales, organizaciones no gubernamentales, universidades, organismos de la seguridad social, grupos comunitarios y otros.

En Nicaragua, además de colaborar y brindar asistencia técnica para el Ministerio de Salud, también ha colaborado en diversas iniciativas con Movicancer a fin de favorecer y fortalecer el control del cáncer. La cooperación técnica ha incluido el apoyo para el desarrollo de los recursos humanos en Gerencia en el uso del SIVIPCAN;y gestión de la aplicación de las diversas normas de control del cáncer: Cuidados Paliativos, Prevención y Atención del Cáncer Cervicouterino, de Senos y de Próstata en la que ambas organizaciones han participado para el fortalecimiento del Sector Salud. También, la OPS ha colaborado con Movicancer en el desarrollo, promoción y distribución de la Ficha única de Tamizaje, así como el registro de seguimiento y tratamiento impulsado por el MINSA a través del SIVIPCAN®, desarrollado e implementado a nivel de la república nicaragüense. www.paho.org/nic

FRIDA es el Fondo Regional para la Innovación Digital en América Latina y el Caribe. Es una iniciativa de LACNIC, que desde 2004 contribuye al desarrollo de la sociedad de la información en la región. El programa ofrece financiamiento y oportunidades para el fortalecimiento de capacidades y networking a organizaciones de la sociedad civil, emprendimientos, gobiernos y universidades que articulan el potencial de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación para el desarrollo en la región.<//p>

Desde el año 2014 FRIDA reconoció el esfuerzo inicial de Movicancer y ha apoyado la transferencia de la plataforma local del Sistema de Vigilancia para la Prevención del Cáncer (SIVIPCAN®) a la plataforma virtual usando el internet para poner accesible este sistema a los establecimientos de salud pública y privada en 153 regiones sanitarias de Nicaragua, incluyendo 53 hospitales, con miras a unificar los procesos de consolidación de la información de los esfuerzos de tamizaje, diagnóstico y tratamiento así como poner a disposición de las unidades hospitalarias el SNAP-SIVIPCAN® que permita consolidar esta iniciativa en Nicaragua. www.programafrida.net

Fundación Movicancer

El MINSA es el sistema de salud que, basado en el derecho constitucional a la salud, atiende a los nicaragüenses según sus necesidades y garantiza el acceso gratuito y universal a los servicios de salud, promueve en la población prácticas y estilos de vida saludable que contribuyen a mejorar la calidad y esperanza de vida y los esfuerzos nacionales para mejorar el desarrollo humano.

Desde el año 2007, ha permitido la colaboración de Movicancer a fin de fortalecer el programa nacional de control del cáncer. En coordinación con el MINSA, Movicancer ha desarrollado diversos proyectos e iniciativas que se han aplicado en todas las regiones sanitarias de Nicaragua.

  1. Asistencia Técnica para la creación de Normativas y Políticas Públicas de Control del Cáncer.
  2. Creación e implementación de la Ficha Única de Tamizaje para la prevención del Cáncer Cervicouterino y de Senos.
  3. Programa de fortalecimiento del Sistema de Vigilancia para la Prevención del Cáncer SIVIPCAN®.
  4. Sistema Nacional de Registro de Patología (SNAP-SIVIPCAN).
  5. Programa de Acceso al tratamiento oncológico para mujeres y niños de procedencia rural.

Movicancer es miembro pleno del Consejo Nacional del Cáncer y apoya al Ministerio de Salud en tareas e iniciativas junto a otras agencias y ONG para introducir nuevas tecnologías de bajo costo y alta eficacia para el control del cáncer cervical, tales como el VPH-Test, que ha beneficiado a más de 80 mil mujeres. Además, apoya con investigaciones operativas en diversos temas vinculados con el propósito de mejorar la calidad y calidez de las diferentes estrategias que desarrolla a fin de asegurar la reducción de la mortalidad y promoción de la sobrevida en la temática del Cáncer. www.minsa.gob.ni

La Red de Institutos Nacionales de Cáncer (RINC/UNASUR), es una institución estructurante y operativa de la UNASUR Salud, y como tal tiene prerrogativas y obligaciones definidas en los marcos legales de la UNASUR. Nace como una estrategia de articulación y cooperación entre instituciones públicas de ámbito nacional. La RINC tiene la responsabilidad de desarrollar y/o ejecutar programas para el control del cáncer en la región de Sudamérica y en los países de América Latina y del Caribe.

En representación de Nicaragua, Movicancer es una organización asociada desde su creación embrionaria en el marco del 2 º Congreso Internacional sobre el Control del Cáncer en Río de Janeiro en 2007 bajo la iniciativa de la “Alianza de América Latina y el Caribe para Control del Cáncer”. En el desarrollo de este organismo se puso de manifiesto las siguientes prerrogativas:

  1. Necesidad de cooperación regional, identificada en las reuniones anteriores celebradas en México y en Río de Janeiro, en 2006, con el apoyo de la Sociedad Americana del Cáncer (ACS).
  2. Identificación de desafíos comunes para el control del cáncer en la región.
  3. Creación de oportunidades para los países con programas exitosos y el intercambio de mejores prácticas entre los miembros de la Alianza: Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, México, Nicaragua (Movicancer), Perú y Uruguay formaron la Alianza, representados por los institutos nacionales de cáncer, los ministerios de Salud, de las sociedades de oncología y los investigadores. Muchos esfuerzos se han hecho en la creación de una comunidad de práctica para el control del cáncer con acciones en áreas prioritarias, tales como; el control del tabaco, del cáncer de mama y cervical.

Desde entonces, la RINC-UNASUR ha apoyado a Movicancer en el fortalecimiento de capacidades técnicas y humanas para proveedores de servicios de prevención del cáncer. Ha sido catalizador y promotor de las relaciones de cooperación entre países de América Latina a fin de consolidar una plataforma de articulación basada en mejores prácticas y asegurar la difusión de los nuevos conocimientos. Desde el año 2011 ha venido trabajando en un “Plan Regional de Acciones Integradas: Plataforma de intercambio de experiencias y asistencia técnica para prevención y control del cáncer de cuello uterino en Sudamérica” de la que Movicancer participa activamente para su implementación con énfasis en la región Centroamericana. www.slacom.org/rinc-slacom

La Unión Internacional Contra el Cáncer (UICC), es la Organización más grande del mundo cuya Misión, en parte, consiste en unir a la comunidad oncológica para reducir la carga mundial de cáncer, promover una mayor equidad e integrar el control del cáncer en la agenda mundial de salud y desarrollo.

Movicancer es miembro con derecho pleno de la UICC; lo que implica participar en diversos programas, iniciativas, así como en la selección de la junta directiva de la UICC. La UICC ha brindado asistencia técnica y financiera a Movicancer a fin de fortalecer las capacidades locales para el tratamiento de lesiones precursoras de cáncer cervical, así como equipamiento que permita brindar atención más acercada a la población donde ha intervenido con apoyo de PATH.

La UICC ha contribuido al fortalecimiento institucional de Movicancer a fin de alcanzar sus metas y capacidad para adoptar mejores prácticas en la gestión organizacional que permita responder a las necesidades nacionales de control del Cáncer. www.uicc.org

Fundación Movicancer

La Sociedad Internacional de Enfermeras en Cuidados del Cáncer (ISNCC) es una organización internacional de enfermeras líderes en oncología, dedicadas a mejorar la salud y el bienestar de las personas en riesgo o que viven con cáncer, promoviendo el rol de la enfermera en mejorar la atención del cáncer y desarrollando liderazgo de enfermería en la prestación de atención del cáncer.

La ISNCC en colaboración con la American Cancer Society (ACS), ha apoyado a Movicancer en fortalecer las capacidades nacionales de las enfermeras a fin de promover mejores prácticas en el control del cáncer con énfasis en los programas de prevención del cáncer cervicouterino. El programa internacional de entrenamiento ha beneficiado a enfermeras del sector público de la salud nicaragüense que contribuye activamente a mejorar la respuesta nacional de atención y prevención en la estrategia nacional de salud reproductiva. www.isncc.org

La Sociedad Americana Contra El Cáncer (ACS) es la organización americana de la salud que, basada en el servicio comunitario y voluntario, se dedica, mediante la investigación, educación, defensa de su causa y prestación de servicios, a prevenir el cáncer, salvar vidas y reducir el sufrimiento causado por el cáncer a fin de eliminarlo como uno de los principales problemas de salud.

La misión de la Sociedad Americana Contra El Cáncer es salvar vidas, celebrar vidas y liderar la lucha por un mundo sin cáncer. Desde el año 2007, la Sociedad Americana del cáncer ha venido apoyando el desarrollo institucional de Movicancer a fin de mejorar su capacidad para responder a las necesidades nacionales en el control del cáncer.

En el año 2008, la ACS ha otorgado el premio “Excelencia Latina 2008” a Movicancer por su esfuerzo en el desarrollo tecnológico del SIVIPCAN® como herramienta para favorecer el control del cáncer cervical y contribuyó con los fondos necesarios para crear la versión 2.0.

La ACS también ha apoyado a Movicancer a fin de desarrollar un modelo integral de organización, desarrollo e implementación de un programa de detección y tratamiento del cáncer de senos basados en contexto de limitados recursos. Este programa de integro al control del cáncer cervicouterino ha contribuido a la prestación de dos servicios de salud a la mujer en una sola consulta.

El resultado de estos está condensado en 4 módulos denominado: “Curso de Gestión en Salud Mamaria” que pueden descargarse desde el Centro de Documentación (CEDOC) de Movicancer. Estos módulos están disponibles de forma gratuita para médicos y enfermeras que organizan la prestación de servicios de prevención del cáncer en el primer nivel de atención en salud (APS).

La ACS junto a la UICC han apoyado a Movicancer a fin de mejorar sus capacidades de Advocacy y de gestión de recursos para avanzar en los proyectos y objetivos organizacionales.www.cancer.org

Fundación Movicáncer

AMCA is a Swiss NGO that supports development with social programs and projects that promote direct interventions to support the most vulnerable groups, women and children; taking into account free access to health and education. In Nicaragua they have been present since 1986 with interventions for cancer control. They began with a cervical cancer prevention project with the introduction of a program based on Cervical Cytology in District III, with the Dra. Bertha Calderón Women’s Hospital as the basis for development.

Later, they supported the creation of the Nora Astorga National Radiotherapy Center (NRC) and the creation of the Hematology Oncology Department at the Manuel de Jesús Rivera Children’s Hospital, “La Mascota”. Since then, they have continued to support different cancer control strategies and have collaborated with Movicancer in the development of field research called: “What women think: Knowledge and perceptions about cervical cancer and the performance of PAP smears in Nicaragua”. This study has been used to improve cervical cancer control strategies with quality and warmth in the public health system. Likewise, it has been supporting various initiatives in the area of ​​Palliative Care and the introduction of new HPV DNA-based screening tests, to ensure that more women use this type of self-testing.

As an association, they work with the ethical values ​​of the public health service and support its development through collaborative projects with institutions, associations and civil society groups from the democratic countries of the Central American region. www.amca.ch

Fundación Movicancer

PATH is the leader in global health innovation. It is an international non-profit organization whose goal is to save lives and improve health, especially among women and children. PATH supports the acceleration of innovation across five platforms: vaccines, drugs, diagnostics, devices, and systems and service innovations.

In Nicaragua, it has developed various projects and initiatives to control cervical cancer. Since 2014, it has supported Movicancer in the introduction and implementation of the HPV Test through the Ministry of Health.

This test allows it to be easily used by health services due to its simplicity and adaptability to work in environments that are difficult to access. Since women are resistant to performing the PAP Test due to cultural factors, the HPV Test has been very well received among all Nicaraguan women, especially those from rural areas.

It has also supported the development of the national registration and monitoring system for cervical cancer control through SIVIPCAN, a technology developed and promoted by Movicancer since 2007. PATH’s work has also involved supporting Movicancer in the development of Standards and Public policies that strengthen the development of prevention and control actions based on a legal framework that supports local improvement actions in the provision of services for the cervical cancer prevention. www.path.org

The Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) is the specialized health agency of the inter-American system, headed by the Organization of American States (OAS), and has also been affiliated with the World Health Organization (WHO), since 1949. Likewise, it is part of the United Nations system.

The essential mission of the organization is to cooperate technically with member governments and stimulate cooperation among them so that, while preserving a healthy environment and advancing towards sustainable human development, the population of the Americas attains Health for All. PAHO carries out this mission in collaboration with ministries of health, other government and international agencies, nongovernmental organizations, universities, social security agencies, community groups, and others.

In Nicaragua, in addition to collaborating and providing technical assistance to the Ministry of Health, it has also collaborated on various initiatives with Movicancer in order to promote and strengthen cancer control. Technical cooperation has included support for the development of human resources, in Management of the use of SIVIPCAN®; and management of the application of various cancer control regulations: Palliative Care, Prevention and Care of Cervical, Breast and Prostate Cancer, in which both organizations have participated to strengthen the Health Sector. Also, PAHO has collaborated with Movicancer in the development, promotion, and distribution of the Single Screening Record, as well as the follow-up and treatment registry promoted by MINSA through SIVIPCAN®, developed and implemented at the level of the Nicaraguan Republic. www.paho.org/nic

FRIDA is the Regional Fund for Digital Innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean. It is a LACNIC initiative, which since 2004 has contributed to the development of the information society in the region. The program offers financing and opportunities for capacity building and networking to civil society organizations, businesses, governments and universities that articulate the potential of information and communication technologies for development in the region.

Since 2014, FRIDA has recognized the initial effort of Movicancer and has supported the transfer of the local platform of the Cancer Prevention Surveillance System (SIVIPCAN®) to the virtual platform using the Internet to make this system accessible to health establishments public and private in 153 health regions of Nicaragua, including 53 hospitals, with a view to unifying the information consolidation processes of the screening, diagnosis and treatment efforts as well as making the SNAP-SIVIPCAN® available to the hospital units that allows consolidate this initiative in Nicaragua. www.programafrida.net

  2. Creation and implementation of the Single Screening Record, for the prevention of Cervical and Breast Cancer.
  3. SIVIPCAN® Cancer Prevention Surveillance System Strengthening Program.
  4. National Pathology Registry System (SNAP-SIVIPCAN).
  5. Access Program to cancer treatment for women and children of rural origin.

Movicancer is a full member of the National Cancer Council and supports the Ministry of Health in tasks and initiatives together with other agencies and NGOs to introduce new low-cost and highly effective technologies for cervical cancer control, such as the HPV-Test, which It has benefited more than 80 thousand women. In addition, it supports operational research on various related topics with the purpose of improving the quality and warmth of the different strategies it develops in order to ensure the reduction of mortality and the promotion of survival in the Cancer field. www.minsa.gob.ni

Fundación Movicancer

The Network of National Cancer Institutes (RINC/UNASUR), is a structuring and operational institution of UNASUR Health, and as such has prerogatives and obligations defined in the legal framework of UNASUR. It was born as a strategy of articulation and cooperation between public institutions at the national level. The RINC is responsible for developing and/or executing cancer control programs in the South American region and in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Representing Nicaragua, Movicancer is an associated organization since its embryonic creation within the framework of the 2nd International Congress on Cancer Control in Rio de Janeiro in 2007 under the initiative of the “Alliance of Latin America and the Caribbean for Cancer Control”. In the development of this body, the following prerogatives were revealed:

  1. Need for regional cooperation, identified in the previous meetings held in Mexico and in Rio de Janeiro, in 2006, with the support of the American Cancer Society (ACS).
  2. Identification of common challenges for cancer control in the region.
  3. Creation of opportunities for countries with successful programs and the exchange of best practices among Alliance members: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Nicaragua (Movicancer), Peru and Uruguay formed the Alliance, represented by national cancer institutes, ministries of health, oncology societies and researchers. Many efforts have been made in the creation of a community of practice for cancer control, with actions in priority areas, such as; control of tobacco, breast and cervical cancer.

Since then, RINC-UNASUR has supported Movicancer in strengthening technical and human capacities for providers of cancer prevention services. The UICC has provided technical and financial assistance to Movicancer in order to strengthen local capacities for the treatment of cervical cancer precursor lesions, as well as equipment that allows it to provide care closer to the population where it has intervened with the support of PATH.

The UICC has contributed to the institutional strengthening of Movicancer in order to achieve its goals and capacity to adopt best practices in organizational management, which allows responding to the national needs of Cancer control. www.uicc.org

The Center for Research and Studies for Health of the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua (CIES-UNAN), is an academic institution at the service of the Mesoamerican region for the training of human resources in Public Health. It develops postgraduate study programs, research on priority health issues, intervention projects to address health problems, proposals for responsible and humanized technical advice, specific consultancies such as program evaluations, among others.

CIES-UNAN, since 2007, has been a close collaborator with Movicancer in various initiatives in order to generate health professionals with greater capacity to manage cancer control programs with an emphasis on women’s cancer. Likewise, it has participated in community education strategies with the purpose of promoting a greater role of the individual against the risk of developing cancer. CIES, in its role as a center for thought management, has developed, together with Movicancer, various conferences with international experts in order to contribute to creating a more effective model in cancer control, especially for Central American countries with limited resource environments. www.cies.edu.ni

The International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC) is an international organization of leading oncology nurses dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people at risk or living with cancer, by promoting the role of the nurse in improving cancer care and developing nursing leadership in the delivery of cancer care.

The ISNCC, in collaboration with the American Cancer Society (ACS), has supported Movicancer in strengthening the national capacities of nurses in order to promote best practices in cancer control with an emphasis on cervical cancer prevention programs. The international training program has benefited nurses from the Nicaraguan public health sector, who actively contribute to improving the national care and prevention response in the national reproductive health strategy. www.isncc.org

The American Cancer Society (ACS) is the American health organization that, based on community and voluntary service, is dedicated, through research, education, advocacy and service delivery, to prevent cancer, save lives and reduce the suffering caused by cancer in order to eliminate it as one of the main health problems.

The mission of the American Cancer Society is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. Since 2007, the American Cancer Society has been supporting the institutional development of Movicancer in order to improve its ability to respond to national cancer control needs.

In 2008, the ACS awarded the “Latin Excellence 2008” award to Movicancer for its efforts in the technological development of SIVIPCAN®

as a tool to promote cervical cancer control and contributed the necessary funds to create version 2.0.

The ACS has also supported Movicancer to develop a comprehensive model for the organization, development and implementation of a breast cancer detection and treatment program based on the context of limited resources. This program to integrate cervical cancer control has contributed to the provision of two health services to women in a single consultation.

The result of these is condensed into 4 modules called: “Breast Health Management Course” that can be downloaded from the Movicancer Documentation Center (CEDOC). These modules are available free of charge to doctors and nurses who organize the provision of cancer prevention services at the first level of health care (PHC).

The ACS together with the UICC have supported Movicancer in order to improve its Advocacy and resource management capacities to advance the projects and organizational objectives. www.cancer.org
