On December 17, 2013, in the Rubén Darío auditorium of the Vice Presidency of the Republic, the Movicancer Foundation received recognition and funds for the implementation of the Surveillance System for the Prevention of Cancer in Women (Sivipcan®) for its contribution to the National Plan for Human Development (2012-2016) granted by the Nicaraguan Council for Science and Technology (CONICYT).
The National Award for Innovation aims to promote a scientific and/or innovation culture, encouraging and projecting the implementation of innovative projects that contribute to solving problems raised in the strategies of the National Human Development Plan (2012-2016), generating direct benefits to the population.
Lic. Orlando Martínez Granera, received on behalf of Dr. Juan Almendarez Peralta, director of the Foundation, said recognition and a check issued by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit in favor of the development of the project in Nicaragua, thus showing an interest in doing of health technologies a tool that translates into improving the capabilities of the public health system and improving the quality of life of Nicaraguan women, a task shared with the Ministry of Health of the Republic.
